I had a lot of work to do for my graduate school classes, but it was a beautiful weekend so I had to go camping. Because it was a working camp weekend, I found myself spending more time inside the tent than I normally would (more privacy from other campers so I could better concentrate). My umbrella style camp chair doesn't fit in my 4'4" tall 4-person tent (it would hit the dome's side walls), and I needed back support. So I went to the store and bought this hoping for the best. Wow, this thing is comfortable. Surprising amount of back support and cushioning. I actually prefer it to the umbrella style camping chair.My only complaints are: 1) It doesn't stay up. If I wasn't sitting in it, the back would immediately fold down. 2) The metal frame means it can only be folded flat with the back on top of the seat. Storage is just a little bulky as a result. Your friends will look on with envy as they deal with pointy rocks and wet backsides. You are not buying this because it offers perfect lumbar support. It's meant to be used for convenience in inconvenient situations/places. And, in that respect, this seat works well. It folks flat, has a pouch where you can store things, and handles to carry it around. The straps are adjustable so you can find your comfort zone, and disconnect so you can lay the whole thing down flat and use it to lay on. My main complaint is that my arms are squeezed together when I sit in it. I can't imagine this seat being very comfortable for very small or very large people. All in all, I'd recommend it if you go hiking or picnicking.Pros: - Portable - Adjustable - Convenient seating - Washable Cons: - Can be a bit uncomfortable |
