I installed this in my 8 year old 3D Maglite and it has brought new life to the flashlight. The incandescent bulb would go through a set of batteries in roughly 6 hours (useful beam for ~2 hrs). This bulb puts out light that is consistent and lasts for ~26 hours and shuts off around 28 hours runtime.I choose this led bulb over the ones offered by Maglite because this one does not suffer from output reduction due to thermal throttling after the first 10 minutes of leaving the light on. The Maglite led bulbs are 3 watts so if you use your light in short bursts instead of steady on, then that might be a better fit for you. Overall, this bulb is a no-brainer buy if you use your incandescent Mag regularly, or want to again after letting it collect dust in favor of more battery friendly lights. I have used similar products from other companies that cost a LOT more and this is the equal to any of them.I have tested this in a variety of 2 cell to 4 cell lights and it has performed well. It gives a nice smooth beam pattern with a good balance between throw and coverage, and the 3 I have all produce a pleasing white light (no odd green, pink, purple color tints that are common in LED lights).
