These pants are hands down my favorite outdoor pants on the market. Every single aspect of these pants has been carefully designed and ultimately what you get is the best full featured outdoor pants on the market.First and foremost these pants are about as comfortable as pants can get. The cut, which includes a full-length inseam gusset and articulated knees, is outstanding and the weight of the fabric is just right, not too thin and not to thick. The waistline is lined with an extremely soft micro-chamois that feels great against your skin, even after long hikes carrying a 60 pound backpack. I have to give props to Mountain Hardware for going with an 11" inseam for the shorts. Too many convertible pants have shorts that are way too short. 10" would be fine too but anything shorter than that and....well, no thanks. Most of the other convertible pants I have tried had 8 & 9" inseams. Changing back and forth between shorts and pants couldn't be easier, which isn't the case... I must say that I have not been happier with a recent purchase. 40 plus miles on one of the most remote trails I have ever been on all with a 75 pound pack. Even though they had a double seat I at least expected the outer layer to be torn a little or at best roughed up. After sliding over a fair amount of jagged, sharp rocks, they had not a mark! I can still were these out for drinks on the weekends. I don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes, but after that trip I bought two more pair. Micro fiber on the waist worked awesome with my hip belt and the gusseted crotch gave me more than enough freedom of movement. Great convertible pants, worth the money, end of story.
