However, not eneough really to jump up a half size. It is really comfortable and I love the great traction from the amazing tread on bottom. The only complaint if it is one is the shoes seem overly stiff, more so than other new pairs of Merrells I have purchased. Maybe that will work out over time and a few long hikes. This review is from: Merrell Men's Chameleon 4 Mid Ventilator GORE-TEX Boot (Apparel) I have bought these shoes to replace my old Meindl's and i have to say im impressed. With these top of the line merrell boots being half the price of my previous pair they feel very well build and they are lighter then you can imagine. I live in a very wet climate and its very important they can stand some wetness and as it says in the discription they can, and haven't leaked so far. They are very comfortable and it feels more like your putting on a pair of sneakers then a pair of 'C' Class hiking boots. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone that is looking for a good pair of hiking boots. Winning "ewin64" (Walnut Creek, CA) - See all my reviews          This review is from: Merrell Men's Chameleon 4 Mid Ventilator GORE-TEX Boot (Apparel) June 20, 2012: First, I have to point out that the first and fourth photos above are NOT the MID-Ventilator boots. They look and are low enough to be the Chameleon 4 Cyclones, but they are not Mid-height, i.e., those two would not cover the ankle. The review I wrote is about a boot, not a shoe: see the second photo above. That said, I've now owned the boot for a couple of weeks, and I broke them in in about an hour! I have terrible feet, and these are almost heaven. They cushion, they breathe, and yet they support. They're not at all heavy, about a pound per boot, and they protect against just about everything EXCEPT foxtails which, for some reason, managed to get in under the tongue. Then again, foxtails are "made" to spread their seed in any way possible, and I seem to be their mailman this year.
